Privacy Policy
Effective
Porchlight is a private space for grounding and personal reflection, made by NoStock. This policy explains how the iPhone app and its website handle information.
Your entries stay in the app
Your affirmations, photos, and completed SOS sessions (Returns) are stored locally on your iPhone. Porchlight does not upload this content to us or provide cloud sync. You do not need an account, and we cannot access or recover your entries.
No tracking or advertising
The app does not collect or transmit your entries, usage activity, location, or advertising identifiers to NoStock. It has no advertising, third-party analytics, or tracking SDKs. We do not sell your personal information.
Photos and camera
Adding a photo is optional. The system photo picker shares only the items you choose with Porchlight. Camera access is requested only when you choose to take a photo. Photos you attach are stored with your entry. You can remove an attached photo by editing the entry, and manage camera permission in iOS Settings.
Storage, backups, and deletion
Entries remain on your device until you delete them or delete the app and its data. To delete an entry, open it, choose Delete from the menu, and confirm. Removing a photo from Porchlight does not delete the original from your photo library. Your device or computer backups may include app data, depending on your Apple settings. Manage backups separately through Apple; deleting a local entry does not remove copies from existing backups. Offloading the app keeps its data.
App Store downloads and diagnostics
Porchlight is free to download and use, with no subscriptions or in-app purchases. Apple handles App Store downloads and may provide developers with download reports and, depending on your Apple sharing settings, app diagnostics. These are governed by Apple's policies and your device settings; Porchlight does not include its own analytics service.
If you contact us
If you email hello@nostock.studio, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send. We use it to respond and provide support, and retain correspondence only as needed for those purposes or legal obligations. Please do not send private entries or sensitive health information. You may contact us to request deletion of support correspondence, subject to any required retention.
The Porchlight website
Our website is hosted by Vercel. Visiting it sends standard request information, such as your IP address, browser information, and requested page, to the hosting provider to deliver and secure the site. The website does not use advertising or analytics trackers. Opening a website or email link leaves the app, and the relevant service's privacy policy applies.
